ohhhh something useful iceshrimp does is, if someone is replying to a followers-only post and you don't follow that other person, it applies a "RE: 🔒" at the start of it
just a general thing: don't treat fediverse like this is twitter or tumblr. you can talk to admins if you have an issue.
don't like an administrative action that was taken? don't escalate it to immediate threats and verbal abuse, just ask! if no clear reason wants to be given, that's not the same as "no reason". admins don't just do things because they think it's funny, they do it because they want what's best for their users.
if that doesn't align with what you expect as a user... well, tell them that. but maybe, just maybe, treat admins as humans?
admins have their own worries and fears, they have their own lives to live. you shouldn't be trying to strike fear into the person who just wants to give y'all a community to use.
okay so! server's going down at 11PM ET! i've put a notice on the rules section, once this all goes back up i might give that a more appropriate name, since that has a lot more than just the rules for this instance lol
oh well y'know, once this gets sorted, any remaining federation issues should hopefully get solved more quickly, i know we've had some issues w/ that at the start so
i haven't personally experienced performance issues myself (the akkoma-fe interface is slow which is weird, but has nothing to do w/ the server lol), but if anyone else had any problems, they should be cleared up once we move
i just realized i fucked up and chose the wrong server for this instance to be hosted on lmfao
but, that's okay, i should hopefully be able to migrate this, i'll do this sometime tonight when nobody's on
when that happens, i'll just backup everything, shove it back here, then re-upload everything and set everything back up, it'll be like nothing happened, except hopefully we get more breathing room
