money issues, closing notes on the carnivore thing (for now)aaaanyway, all to say, 1. fuck my period aaaaghhhh 2. i do hope i can continue to civil on this subject now that i hate the ppl peddling their goods off the backs of blatant misinformation more than i did already 3. i really gotta get a job so i can hold up my end of the bargain on rent. i interviewed/applied for so many jobs that i ran outta steam a while back.
tbh my guess is that it started in ~2017 in his formative years when he got really into Jordan B* Peterson, and got some good out of it but a lotta bad seeds also, then those spores just festered for years until they grew into an obviously malnourishing eating disorder :/
rant kinda, carnivore, anti-science, denialso ig carnivore 101: - claim there isn’t enough evidence to support your opponents’ claims.
- if there obviously is an abundance of evidence, claim it actually doesn’t count because data is impossible to actually collect or some shit.
- if the methodology is actually solid, claim the researchers just lied.
- if any study comes out which seems like it may vaguely actually support your claims in any way, misinterpret/lie about what it says to make it fit (and then act like that didn’t just happen).
anti-science, denialand like it should be easy for anyone here to say, when gently pressed, ‘oh they must’ve skimmed the study’ but no! doubling down on “well scientific data isn’t a real thing, how would you even measure that? well, even then-“ is apparently the move.
well, that and “oUr AnCesToRs WoRkEd iN tHE FiElDs!-“
but like every slide on the post failed on its merits, nobody — even the extremely-prominent post author — is willing to admit it, and im supposed to trust this dude to be remotely correct about literally anything?
anti-science, denialanyway, brought all the inconsistencies up with my roommate after he shared it with me and the mental gymnastics were fucking CRAZY
The Carnivore Roommate Saga continuesYeah, im not a dietician, but after engaging critically with a high-profile carnivore brand’s blatant lies about sunscreen studies (such as claiming a study said 80% of sunscreens contain specific carcinogens - it said 7%), I am increasingly convinced that their revolutionary worldview, which requires you to distrust basically every scientist and scientific principle, maaaaaaay be full of shit.
anti science type shitmy roommate thinks he does not have to wear sunscreen because people on carnivore dont get sunburnt. he is sunburnt. he disagrees. his entire face and scalp is bright red. but it doesn’t hurt, so that’s not sunburn. what.
