really rambling post re: fiction/reality crossover
The whole... Thing, with English spaces and their fervent need to relate fiction EXACTLY to real life is, so exhausting. Personally, I think paraphillia definitions are about real life attraction to existing things, otherwise I would just be everything under the sun to some extent. But like, no I am only interested in the Unreal, the Fantastical. Any of this stuff in real life is a no for me. There are probably circumstances and experiences that caused me to be this way as well as DNA or brain chemicals. It's just, very comolex stuff I think needs more research to be public.People in the US latch on to art coming from a part of you deep inside and feel that it's super direct and obvious. The human brain is more complicated than that. It distinguishes fiction from non fiction by age 3-5.
Somewhere along the line (probably when tumblr became popular) American teens and young adults got obsessed with the idea of media representation. Like how minorities and such get portrayed. And I guess that bled over into internet art and writing. Cause they weren't grown up enough to have the emotional intelligence to understand disgust isn't the same as being in danger. And then were being exposed to all sorts of things that they didn't get right away. And education couldn't keep up.
I don't know where I'm going with this anymore. It's just tiring to think about how we got here and why. Ultimately I just want to enjoy loli shota + more in peace and share my passion. And I think the question of does fiction "affect" reality is not just a yes or no answer.
