Just a lil couyon age regressor. Totally a big girl. Enby, tends sapphic but queer as a swamp. Here to be a freak 30% of the time and to be freaked upon 50% of the time.
Woe, French alligators upon yee.
Icon: Cropped art by Sumatsuki, a feminine appearing young character with green skin, blue-green nail polish and hair, blushing and licking their lips. A flip phone is in their hands and they appear to be staring into it; their eyes are out of frame.
Banner: a cropped screencapture from the anime Trigun. Vash is laying on the floor with a comical expression, eyes rolled back, blushing. Two characters in the background are sitting tied up. The caption says "Creep.".
@smolfrozenthing@Aogami@orenjipiiru Sure as hell miss when the food used to be good growing up.....don't miss the rest of the customers there at all though!
I feel like an ancient mystery has been solved. For context, my memories are EXTREMELY hazy for anything younger than 22, ish, and certain periods of time are more "burnt away" than others.
I have, distinct yet bizarre and fuzzy memories of playing a game, about a little star dude swimming through the ocean trying to get back up into the sky palace he was knocked out of.....every time I go looking, trying to figure out what game that was, I end up with The Legendary Starfy...but it looks nothing like what I remember. I conclude it can't be that, move on, forget about it for a few years, until something reminds me again.
Apparently, the reason for this was....I actually had been playing the ORIGINAL Starfy, which was at least 3 games for the GBA (what I remember having), and it was originally only for Japanese domestic markets. We must have gotten it at a used game store, I know we browsed the $10 and under bargain bin a lot. But without specifying the JP games, I ONLY ever got search results for the single title released in the US, for the DS...and also the last game in the series apparently.
What little I remember has a weird sentimental feeling about it, bordering on sadness. I'm....curious what memories might be unearthed if I emulated it or bought the apparent Switch re-releases. Especially with how tied my emotions and memories are to music.
I kinda also wish I could make pixel art in that particular style. Buncha funny lil' guys!
Some have paraphillias, some have traumas, some have both....most have ethics, and those who don't and hurt orhers hopefully are caught and removed. But otherwise it seems EN-centric cub and lolisho spaces aren't too different from those in other culture/language centric ones like JP, when it comes to the psychology underneath.
Most of us just want to reclaim some kind of happiness, whether that's pretending to be smaller, or appreciating small art.
I miss when games were sillier while still challenging like this; I think the style of outlandish humor and nonsensical plots in Warship Gunner 2's SPECIAL missions was a bit of Japanese taste, as Japanese game shows and comedy shows like Takashi's Castle, and light anime like Go! Go! Loser Ranger! remind me of it a lot. It's different from Western Cartoons like Codename: Kids Next Door, somehow.
Those games were also different from silly but challenging games of today...sometimes they're okay, but R.E.P.O. and Lethal Company also don't feel the same. I think it's because they're meant to play with friends, and the games I miss were singleplayer, so the story and world had to be unhinged enough. Ratchet & Clank and other classic platformers were good too.
My memory is a fever dream honestly. I can't remember anything but nonsense clearly, but at least it's very entertaining nonsense sometimes.
I'm just gonna go to bed dreaming about Keroro Gunso (Sgt Frog) sailing off to battle The Extraterrestrial Lord of Terror (Naval Ops: Warship Gunner 2). But the alien frogs are knocked out of the water by the squid's inky wave motion gun and now must strike back in a dance off. 3 2 1 FIRE!!
Autism: can't pick up on overt social norms, but also automatically picks up social patterns to create very culturally flexible masking....I always feel weird when I suddenly realize I'm typing the way a translator presents Japanese posts, or echoing Latino mannerisms...
Briefest of USPol NotedI'd rather say "gulags per fascism" at this point but we're here to get away from it....talking about it is more for main and I'm so out of spoons...
I should probably get back to learning more languages. I have a feeling machine translation is still only so reliable...and it doesn't always pick up or preserve correct context.
As funny as it is from an American perspective given the memes. I doubt people in Japan measure apartments by the number of tatami mats it needs for floor coverage.
Right? That's a little too burgers per freedom.....
Thinking more about the Cub Island Club game idea, it'd be nice if you could play as the escorts too.....pick your clients, unlock enhancements courtesy of your big friends down in the lab....
