I've watched a lot of people, fair weather so-called "friends" use then abandon my friend based on whether or not she's just so sick she can't keep forcing herself to draw, or currently in a sprint for income and forcing herself to draw. A lot of supposedly pro- this and that folks but usually it's only those who share adjacent experiences who seem to stick by such folks...
Very much different types too. Some are just like you said and it almost feels like there's no point wasting breath on them. Others know but are trying to skate until they figure themselves out or find their first comm. But hard to tell the difference until they blow up like overgrown toddlers on the Internet or sheepishly give the "I know but".
Meanwhile ten years ago I went and anonymously apologized to the artist whose character I was ripping when I finally had my own. Guilt was too strong
