repostRecently a question came up to someone I follow about what kind of game they would make with 3 million USD. I wanted to answer this myself...
I would want to make a visual novel. Maybe you have heard of the fangame "Babysitting Cream". I want to put some of my own spins on the idea. Mainly expand on the system of morality. Include choices that would effect alignment more often. And different activities and variants open up based on these alignments, as well as endings and such. There coupd be a path to becoming a secret couple, or to getting caught and in trouble, or just being a good babysitter.
I don't think that would be super expensive to make on it's own, it could be done with Renpy (or Flash!). Most of the money would go towards hiring artists and coders, maybe a second writer. Things to improve the polish of the game.
For characters, I would use my own ocs, maybe even keep them in the Sonic universe, but I'm only 50% on doing that. Poly would be the charge and Gareth could be the sitter... and I could make up new expy characters for their parents.
I'll reply to this if I think of more, feel free to weigh in too.
Honestly it would be very interesting for a game like Babysitting Cream to have such a morality system. I think the original did have one, and it changed a couple choices. But those couple of "revival" attempts take it out, cause the modders didn't like non con. Whatever, it makes the game less interesting to me.
I've mentioned my own ideas for a game like this before on an older account. Involving my own OCs. I don't have the guts to make it a reality, at least not right now.
Had dreams about a version of Babysitting Cream with a high emphasis on a morality system, to the point of drastically changing endings to the game. The negative, bad end of the morality led to Sonic basically kidnapping Cream, bringing them to a hut in the forest, and "marrying" her. Cream is traumatized by this and everything she had to deal with from Sonic by this point, so her mind is broken and her expression is dead, while Sonic has a giant smile on his face.
There were also hidden characters. One was a rabbit, started out yellow, before turning blue like Sonic's beta rabbit design. There was a bully that this rabbit ended up chasing down, and eventually accidentally killing? And then that girl's sister comes in, and she and the rabbit foght to the death. The rabbit wins. There was a crowd watching this too. The girl's father comes in. They were part of a rich family. He says he will bring the rabbit to court, and the rabbit gets arrested. The rabbit says, "You know, I didn't mean to go this far. Would your daughter have stopped?"
The rabbit pleads guilty to "assault and battery". Cream is called as a witness, and she describes how awful the two girls were. That's all I have for this part. My dream kept switching back and forth between "playthroughs" and "routes".
There was also scenery of, a third character, who my brain couldn't decide on. At one point it was Infinite. But this third character, would start out slightly shifted to the bad side of the morality scale. The rabbit would have been slightly shifted to the good side, while Sonic would be in the middle.

Been kind of interested in the ship Tiki x Marth (And also Tiki x Marth x Caeda). It feels very fluffy to me. I also like the intersection of a "younger sister" and romantic bond.
I never want to hear anyone say censorship is a good thing again. Who cares if you think something is freaky or gross that doesn't mean it has no value to anyone. We as a society need to grow up genuinely
Feeling like I should explore more sapphic ships. As you know I tend to lean towards male/masculine characters and yaoi. But there are some girly ships I like too.
The first that comes to mind are Amitie/Raffina and Feli/Lidelle from Puyo Puyo. I have written a fic for the former, but I have yet to draw them...
Next coming to mind is Milla/Neera from Freedom Planet 2. This one has an age gap, and I actually elaborated on this one on my website. Basically Milla has a unique empathy and understanding of Neera's struggles.
I think Fire Emblem also tends to lean more towards male Ho Yay, and I can't think of any female relationships that stand out to me in particular. But there are so many characters so, my mind is open to this.
