embeds will still generally work, but a cool feature of this is that CW'd and sensitive media posts will still show up on discord's embeds

and we don't get that feature 😔

cool news, discord now implemented general support for fediverse posts, not just ones from mastodon

bad news: iceshrimp.net seems to be one of the only ones to not work because they don't implement a single string in the HTML tags aneopossum_floof_explosion

i've told them the info i know about it in dev chat so hopefully they fix that up lol

okay i think i can confindently say the issue with images not working has been fully resolved, yay

...i'll solve the SSL issues with iphones tomorrow i think aneopossum_floof_explosion

and by that i mean i'll try the one thing i can possibly (hehe) do, and if that fails, then iphone users will just have to learn to not use an apple device deal with it unfortunately

okay i think we should be good on images now, for some reason the docker container having a mismatched MTU meant that it just refused to download literally anything, i couldn't convince the container itself to download curl lmfao

but the outside thing worked so, yeah

let's hope this all worked huh x3

man this issue with images from other instances not loading is seriously annoying me

out of all instances, aethy and misskey.io are only ones that don't have problems

and it doesn't seem related to what software the other instance runs, akkoma instances are affected too, so wtf?

i might talk to the iceshrimp.net dev about this at some point, it's really perplexing
