defederation notice; lengthyi have had to make a really, really tough call here, but it's for the ultimate safety of users here.
i am now defederating plush.city. honestly, i would not be surprised to find they already defederated us, but, in light of Recent Events, this is my course of action. i will explain it as follows:
- a user posted to the fediblock hashtag, recommended everyone remote suspend/defederate an instance, due to someone's post. in which, in that post, was a user describing their own beliefs. whether you agree with their ideology or not is beyond the point; this is a personal qualm used to try to cancel a transfem.
- said user who posted this cancellation post has went on to talk about how kodocons are equivalent to, and i quote, "2d kidfuckers", and how you'd be seeing them "in the hauge" for suggesting this be permissible.
i do not tolerate this kind of behavior, these users pose a threat to queers like us who are not harming anyone. and, go figure, people like to raise hell over inconsequential bullshit.
trying to incite a harassment mob against a transfemme for their political beliefs, to deplatform and cancel them, then to go on and chime in on the recent steam/itch.io BS and go "well actually it's fine these games are being censored, and anyone saying otherwise i will personally kill myself" is, in fact, dangerous.
sorry for the overly long post, i need to make it clear as day when i defederate an instance. because, unlike the instance we have just defederated, i like to make sure my users know my full intentions, instead of cowardly defedding someone who just merely objects to something one of my users says.
also, apologies in advance if this wasn't 100% coherent, been having troubles with keeping my mind awake these days, but i hope i got everything across!
re: personal talk, callout culture, hopeful nonsense@tox yeah, i have a big backstory of my own with callout posts. and i recently had a serial harasser attack me recently, tagging a bunch of fedi admins to defederate my instance (i run possums.gay), and y'know what happened? on the non-lolisho/cub side of fedi, a random person i never met stood up and tried to shut their arguments down. because they believed in me being innocent, after all i've written about this stuff.
and of course, everyone here has been immensely understanding.
things have been a lot better since i dropped the veneer and just straight-up tell everyone i draw cub art. i don't make it a prominent point on my main account (this isn't my main account despite me owning this instance lol), but i do make it very clear i do this stuff, and... even though i continue to be blacklisted from more and more fedi communities, i've found people who truly care about what i do, and listen to what i have to say. and they're the real ones.
and, of course, if all this ever fails... this side of fedi's always got my back.
posted it in private on main so i'll post it here as a local-only post, i've defedded tor.observer. it's a proxy service for onion websites to be accessed in regular browsers.
...and i just got reminded of a very certain instance that exists on there, we already defedded it, but i'm not taking any chances on new ones that might pop up lol.
i know there's probably legitimate instances out there that use it, but it's trivial to spin up a bunch of URLs for tor, so i don't wanna imagine what can happen lol
well. this sure is fucking stupid. i talked about this before but, brickadia had a recent controversy where someone on staff supported shota art. tl;dr someone was banned for drawing shota art, another person was banned for supporting said art, they didn't even fucking draw said art.
now, it'd be one thing if it was staff... it'd still be dumb, but that's staff. but now, they're saying if they find ANYONE has drawn this kind of art, they will be banned. period.
this has already happened to an artist i know by name, they haven't said anything about it so i won't bring up their name. and one of my friends is currently fearful they will be banned too.
what is this fucking nonsense? they are not bringing this art up in-game. they are not actively chatting about it with anyone. just being merely associated is enough for your $30 purchase to be unequivocally revoked, because of the pearl-clutching whims of the developers.
worse still, they are actively encouraging users to report cases of these users doing this stuff to brickadia directly, in discord DMs and email. that's a load of shit i tell you.
