okay i was going to use waydroid to try to use android apps to log in to my own instance to see if markdown works via them, but i forgot mobile phone OSes are made by the most evil people ever, and i couldn't log in to a single one besides tusky, in which even then tusky didn't have a markdown option lmao
starting to think markdown support is just borked for right now
