A question for CSA trauma kinksters about "vent art" censorship:
Can anyone here tell me what they think about antis who say "don't post your vent art online"? Like, the takes I always see from this angle are "if you're drawing or writing things pertaining to your own abuse, you're not supposed to publicly share them unless its with a therapist".What just... really irks me about this take is that there's even this comparison of artistically expressing yourself to "trauma dumping". I'm sorry... but doesn't everyone already do that online in survivor forums like reddit? Most people who draw or write dead dove to explore their own CSA trauma (it's almost always lolisho discourse with this shit) TAG the CWs for this accordingly.
They're willingly going to these spaces to retraumatize or make themselves uncomfortable. (THEY'RE MISSING THE ENTIRE POINT OF DEAD DOVE) I don't like this mentality of "censor CSA in art or else it's drawn CP" to the point this could be really detrimental to survivors who are still in denial of their CSA. Because that legitimately happened to me, I couldn't wrap my head around calling myself a CSA survivor, or else I'd feel like it's appropriation. It didn't take me until I started rereading "problematic" manga to finally have a therapist confirm that I AM a survivor.
"This is an unhealthy coping mechanism!!" how is this unhealthy if they're coping AWAY from you in peace? "Keep it to yourself" is still an isolation tactic. Also... is it even necessary to show our therapists such sexually graphic imagery? Like I can't really imagine my therapist actually...wanting to see me draw sexual violence. How does this even work? This is the most mind boggling part of this logic. It doesn't feel appropriate at all, at most I just vocally describe to her sexually violent and disturbing things I connect to in fiction.
