I still think "cancel culture" as a concept is very out of touch with how capitalism works. It isn't real because rich people can get away with anything, no one gets seriously canceled if they're a celebrity. But what's actually the root of the problem is that "accountability culture" is barely constructive on how we should be holding people accountable for things."Accountability" is a concept that's been warped by bad faith actors who throw this term around like a form of therapy speak. It isn't productive to cyberstalk a bunch of people and go "look, I'm holding them accountable!!" People on the modern day internet don't actually KNOW what accountability is. Accountability is when you hold people responsible for their abusive actions, not when you try to deplatform them for any little thing that you don't like.
