God FUCK deviantart. I stopped liking that site the moment everyone started becoming edgy stuck up art snobs who "got over" their anime art style phase in the early 2010s.It went from "ugh I'm not a cringy weeaboo anymore, I draw REAL cartoons now!!!" then migrated to tumblr to spread their 4channy anti otaku bullshit. Which started overlapping with baby's first social justice activism that liking anime too much is orientalist (instead of just.... Idk, finding more productive ways to stop the racist fetishism??? but whatever) and then obsessively finding other reasons to shame anime artists to stop enjoying anime and draw something else. I lost my artistic identity because of these fucking people + the trauma I already endured being an art school student being abused by the same kind of art snob cliques.
Cringe culture entwined with tumblr radical liberalism hurt me so much as an artist. All I wish for is that fedi never subjects me to this kind of bullshit ever again, I just want to move on with my fucking life and draw whatever the fuck I want again!!!!!!!!! FUCK censorship and FUCK the art world.
