damn, apis restored their inkbunny gallery :o
they cite multiple rationales for why they nuked it in the first place, outside of just cleaning up their public image.
fear is a big factor that causes many artists of our ilk to just nuke everything and leave the internet, and it sucks so bad every time it happens. fear is everything, it's the thing that can stop many people dead in their tracks when it comes to this stuff.
and i can't blame a single person for that, the world is a scary place. i needn't say why i of all people am also very scared. despite that i try to remain resolute, especially when i'm running a community like this, of like-minded queer individuals.
i've had thoughts in the past about nuking it all and just starting fresh, with a new name and everything; but i ultimately came to realize it'd do way more harm. people love my art, people have been inspired by it; to take it away from them would be to deprive them of the joy i gave them. and, inevitably, """internet slueths""" will put two and two together and figure out my old identity, and i'd end up even worse off, due to people thinking i "betrayed" them.
i dunno. it's a scary world out there.
