my current solution is to use an HDMI to component converter, and connect a steam deck to output that to my CRT TV
it's not 100% perfect, if only because there's the occasional frame sheer (probably because the steam deck outputs 60hz instead of 59.94hz), but it otherwise works fine for my needs :p
