Making hair for this boy is hard... Originally he would have bangs covering both eyes, but I decided one eye looked better. I really want his head to be all scruffy, like bedhead in Animal Crossing. Perhaps he should have a beanie hat, or something similar? Also gave him freckles close to his eyes, and somewhat puffy cheeks. I did all this at work, on post it notes... I'm home now but I don't feel like drawing humans right now
I am imagining their eventual dynamic going from a mutual partnership, where they learn from each other, to a found family incestuous, of sorts, as they eventually have an offspring... gotta be a little weird with it
Was busy working on my site, so I didn't do much designing again, but I do want to think of some details about him. I already decided his name would be Amphon. I think his clothes would be just a bit dirty, but not so much so, perhaps being too dirty makes him nervous. The clothing fabrics are a mix of brow, orange, and green. I think it would have a lot of pockets.
I want to convey his shyness and ingenuity through his looks, but I think it would also better be portrayed through his mannerisms. He moves carefully, fidgets a lot. Rather sensitive to smells and textures.
Undecided on his complexion, but I'm thinking more on the tan side? And I keep imagining ginger, curled hair. I wonder if those things would clash, color wise. Well, I have to visualize it soon.
I also have been thinking about the monster. I decided to call it Wattana. It's an anomaly, an old experiment, mutated over thousands of years. I also want it to be referred to with ae/aer, a neopronoun originally intended for aliens of a "third sex". For the purpose of identifying how out there it is compared to most other beings, and its own internal world. Thinking more about this society-less world. There would be some remnants of society, I suppose. I don't think there would be an economy, and I am wondering how much merchantilism would exist. I don't know how valuable currency would be. Perhaps trade is more likely. I think it also depends on how scarce resources are. I don't think they would be too scarce since I don't imagine the population being high.
I was also wondering about how "advanced" technology would be. Imagine at the time of the Apocalypse, it was as advanced as it is now in our real world. But it would have been millennia ago. Some knowledge would surely be passed down, but I don't know how readily available electricity would be, so I am not sure about motor vehicles being in use. Analog vehicles would be used though, like bicycles.
This could fit in as one of the planets in my galaxy, or as a separate story. I lean a little towards the latter because I can't imagine interaction with other planets, and I want that to be part of the galaxy; interplanetary relations and exploration. But with this place being so desolate... Eh, details to work out later, right now I want to think of this new world and its story by itself.
Edit: I have decided this will be it's own universe. Working title is "Millennia Later".
I haven't designed this boy I have alluded to yet, but I am thinking of him existing in some kind of apocalyptic post-society beyond anarchy world where basically everyone fends for themselves. He is adept at survival: knows a lot of outdoor skills, how to craft items with low materials, what is safe to eat and drink, etc. He is also cripplingly shy, especially around other humans.
This world is inhabited by humans, domestic animals, and mutated wild animals and monsters (potentially also very "evolved" animals, like maybe stuff you would see in The Future Is Wild). Many large cities and towns up to this point have crumbled and decayed heavily. No buildings are more than a couple stories high, and the insides are overgrown with plant life. I am not too concerned about the cause of this apocalypse at this point in time. It would have been millenia ago. And civilization hasn't really sprung up again since, not as organized as it was before.
But anyway, I want to pair this boy with one of these mutated monsters (I do have an adopt in mind for it...). Already bizarre looking, it can also shapeshift to an extent, which helps it survive. Like the boy it tends to keep to itself, seemingly having trust issues. They do gravitate towards each other. Perhaps they both have a sense of loneliness that is alleviated being around each other.
I am just so tired n exhausted. I get side-eyed by people who don't like kemo/lolisho/noncon and then I can't relate with a lot of other people who do. I'm a foreigner everywhere I go

Look I don't want to diss anyone or imply people can't have preferences or should just be 100% open and tolerant to everything but, it is just baffling to me when you have these kink artists who draw all sorts of weird and out there stuff and obviously pride themselves in how "freaky" they are, but then underage is crossing the line. And ppl are so passive aggressive about it too.
Like "I'll draw toxic yaoi boys crying and stabbing each other BUT THEY MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE..." I don't even see lolishota as strange as like inflation or I don't know mammal paws on car gas pedals but it is suuuch a sticking point for others.
And again I am not saying people can't have their tastes. I don't like scat or smegma and I think STDs are the least sexy thing on the planet. While also adoring shota guro where the boy is almost unrecognizable. But you wouldn't catch me throwing shade around at people who do like those things above. I notice this tone of dismissiveness kink artists have about underage and it's disconcerting, especially with all this censorship nonsense happening this year
@bakersteak relevant here too: does me portraying consensual loli-shota mean that I think adults and kids should have sexual relationships? If I draw loli being raped, does that mean I think that it's ok for this to happen to kids? And various other tropes. Just doesn't work.
@hearthunter re: that post, those people are probably not actually forming philosophy at all and are just going with what's popular. ethics of cops and laws and when to follow them is a layered and heavy topic that one needs time to think about beyond some twitter thread

Maybe they live in a setting where rates of sexual assault/murder are very high for young girls, and Mom is convinced it would happen to her daughter no matter what. Like, the daughter is too outgoing, or too curious, maybe just she likes wearing "provocative" clothes. So Mom is going to spare her the pain of being raped and killed by a stranger and... Do it herself so that her daughter stays in familiar hands. It's a very insane conclusion to reach
